Unfortunately, these affairs were being held in the far flung outposts of town (one, technically, in another town) – and there was a whole lotta schlepping going on. So it was this past Saturday, when my friend Evan and I found ourselves with a trio of gatherings being hosted by good friends that we felt obliged to attend – not out of debt or guilt or anything like that – but simply because these were our buddies, and they’d come-out to represent at our parties, so it was only apropos that we return the favor. Ah, the obligations of a busy social calendar… Also, it gets a bit exhausting when you have to attend three, four, sometimes five things in one afternoon. It’s not that I have a problem with Saturdays – it’s just that weekends are two days long, so I feel that it’s a shame to let Sunday sulk in the shade while Saturdays are filled to the bursting point.
It seems like everybody in Las Vegas plans all of their get-togethers, parties, wherefore and what-have-you for Saturdays.
